Introduction


There were quite a number of famous kilns in the Tang Dynasty, and porcelain fired in different kilns had their own characteristics. For instance, the celadon porcelain made from the reputed Yue Kiln and Changsha Kiln in the south was much valued by the later generations. The kilns firing white porcelain generally gathered in the north, mainly include Xing Kiln and Ding Kiln in Hebei, Gongxian Kiln in Henan, and so on. In addition, there were also well-known kilns specially firing yellow porcelain, black porcelain, etc.
